Succesfull Rodeo!
|
10/07/09
|
The rodeo was a huge success this year with a
great time had by all.
There was a fantastic atmosphere and we raised over
£1000 for Surfaid! Just enough swell came in to
make the competition fun and the final was held at
high tide which was great for the spectators.
James Parry took the mens title with a winning
combination of good surfing and silliness and Sandy
Bleackley winning the womens competition.
The fun continued in the evening and Dolphins Fly did an
awesome set.
A big thank you to the Moffatt family, to everyone
that took part and to all the business that
generously donated prizes.

Rodeo 2008 Results
|
08/08/08
|
Luckily the terrible weather abated and this
years Rodeo was a resounding success raising
£400 for Surfaid.
First place in the mens competition was taken by
Ben Vavrecka and the womens heat was won by
Sandy Bleakley. There were plenty of flying
tackles, infaltable alligators and even a
surfing nun - all round a great laugh!
A big thanks to everyone that helped out and to
the local business that sponsered the event.

|
This years Surf Rodeo will be held on the 6th of
July.
|
|
This years Waterman's Ball will be taking place
on the 8th of December.
|
|
This years surf Rodeo went without a hitch with
slightly lower numbers than last year due to
poor weather, which thankfully cleared at the
last moment.
The usual array of dirty
tactics were on display in the biggest surf
we`ve had for the competition yet which lead
to some great heats. Toby Jones took 1st place
with some help from Jonti's shop
mannequin.
Big thankyou\'s to all the
organisers and sponsers who helped us raise
over $1000 for Surfaid.

bit late for results on this one but any way. as
predicted word had spread and we had an evan
better attendance than last year. competitors
were getting very excitable as from the previous
year had set the standard/requirments needed to
eliminate other competitors. pushing triping or
just tyeing the leashes together prior to the
start of the heat all added to the judgeing
critera. vehicles ranged from retro 70's single
fins- surf tech long board- fridge doors. there
was a few cheap dirty tactics going on however as
competitors (some but not all) insisted on
removeing clotheing like it was a cheep shot but
the crowds seem to like it so the winner had to
be defending champion Kirstan. and there was much
rejoicing
